In AI-related patent matters, legal questions often depend on a precise understanding of the underlying technology, including what a claimed system actually does, what the prior art teaches, and where the meaningful technical distinctions lie.

Over the past year, patent counsel have brought us into that work. We have analyzed claims, prior-art references, and prosecution histories, and addressed patent-eligibility questions, including the preparation of expert declarations under 37 CFR §1.132 for proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

What began as an extension of our work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and intellectual property has become a defined service. Hamilton & Boss now provides technical expert support for patent prosecution and related matters involving AI, machine learning, healthcare technology, and complex software systems, addressing the technical questions upon which these matters increasingly turn.
